Dr. Lara Mattox is a licensed clinical psychologist who provides a range of diagnostic and therapeutic services for children, adolescents, and adults.  She is licensed in Oklahoma and located in Tulsa, Oklahoma where she has been in practice for nearly 20 years.  She is a PSYPACT Authorization Holder, which means that she is authorized to provide virtual services to anyone located in a PSYPACT state.  If you are outside of Oklahoma and hope to receive services virtually, please go to https://psypact.gov/page/psypactmap to find out whether you live in a PSYPACT state and are eligible to receive services.

Dr. Mattox obtained her masters degree in Clinical Psychology in 2001 and then her doctorate in Clinical Psychology in 2003, both degrees having been awarded by the University of Tulsa.  Dr. Mattox completed her pre-doctoral clinical internship as well as two years of post-doctoral training at the University of California, Los Angeles Neuropsychiatric Institute (now the UCLA Semel Institute).  Dr. Mattox has specialized training and experience in the treatment of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Trichotillomania, and tic disorders, including Tourette’s, as well as in conducting diagnostic evaluations for Autism Spectrum, ADHD, and learning disorders.

Since moving back to the Tulsa area in 2006, Dr. Mattox has conducted evaluations or treatment with well over a thousand patients, led parent training groups, lectured at multiple area schools and parent forums around the state, and delivered a presentation to an Oklahoma House of Representatives subcommittee, among other professional activities.  Dr. Mattox is also interested in working with other professionals to develop innovative programs for social skills development, infant/toddler mental health, parent development, and parent and child bonding.

Dr. Mattox’s goal is to provide thoughtful, focused, evidenced-based services that will help empower patients and/or their parents.  She is committed not only to working with individual patients and their families, but also to working in and with the community, including public and private agencies, schools, and others to help educate the public about mental health issues and the field of psychology.
